About Frisco, TX

Frisco is located in both Denton and Collin County, Texas. In the 1860s, the town of Lebanon was founded by pioneers traveling Preston Trail (now Preston Road). In 1902, the St. Louis-San Francisco railroad began constructing a line in the area, and a watering hole needed to be placed for the steam engines. Since Lebanon’s elevation was too high, the watering hole was established in the area that is now Frisco, named in honor of the railroad.

Today, the city has a population of over 145,000 people. It is a rapidly growing city and is home to many attractions.

Since we are personal injury attorneys and auto accident attorneys, we are very familiar with the hospitals in the area. Fortunately, Frisco has many excellent hospitals and medical facilities. It’s always important to get checked out after a crash. Baylor Scott and White, Texas Health Frisco, and Frisco Medical City Hospital all offer great services. If you want to find more hospitals in the Frisco area, check out the Frisco City Chamber of Commerce’s full list here.

It’s very important to have a primary-care physician. Primary care physicians can give you regular check-ups and physicals and make sure that you are healthy. You want to make sure you’re staying healthy so that if you are involved in a crash, you have a higher likelihood of resolving injuries. If you don’t have a primary care physician in Frisco, check out UT Southwestern Medical Center Frisco, Medical City Frisco, and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. For children, Children’s Medical Center Plano is a great place to start looking for a pediatrician. A great resource for finding physicians that are in-network with your insurance is ZocDoc.

A lot of times, injury victims struggle with PTSD, anxiety, and depression after a crash, which is common after a traumatic event. Mental health often gets brushed over because it’s not an injury you can see. However, talking to someone when you’re struggling after a crash can help improve your mental health and aid in the physical healing process as well. Frisco Mental Health Services, Mended Soul Counseling Services, and New Perspective Counseling Services are great places to begin looking for a counselor.

After a crash, many people miss working out. However, it’s unrealistic to expect to return to your usual workout routine while you’re still trying to heal. Walking and cycling are minimal-impact exercises that are great to ease you back into exercising. There are ten trails in Frisco, including the Beaver Bend Trail, Ironhorse Trail, or the Big Bluestem Trail. If you’re more of a biker, check out Frisco Mountain Bike Trail, Cottonwood Creek Greenbelt, Beaver’s Bend Trail, or Caddo Trail. No matter what exercise you’re wanting to do, Frisco has over 50 parks, so you can easily find the perfect spot to get active.

Yoga is another minimal-impact exercise that is great for easing you back into working out after a crash. In Frisco, you can check out different types of yoga classes at Yoga on Main, Dwell Yoga, The Alchemy Yoga, or Ignyte Yoga.

Stretching can help prevent injuries, reduce pain after an injury, and improve one’s mental and physical health. Stretchlab in Frisco is a great option for those interested in getting good stretches. They offer monthly memberships, one-on-one stretches, and group stretches led by certified “stretchologists.”

Sometimes injury victims find that cryotherapy, or cold therapy, helps with pain relief, heals their muscles, and reduces inflammation. Frisco has a few cryotherapy studios that offer different sessions and services. Check out Icebox Cryotherapy Studios, iCRYO, Below Zero Cryo, or Cryo and Sports Recovery.

Some injuries prevent victims from being able to participate in the household tasks that they normally do, such as grocery shopping, cleaning, or mowing the lawn. There are a few services in Frisco that will help with household services while you recover. Home Helpers Home Care and Assisting Hands Home Care provide recuperative care services such as running errands, grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, assisting with showering, meal preparation, providing transportation to doctor’s appointments, and more.

Frisco offers curb-to-curb public transportation for residents who are 65 years of age or older, disabled, or require transportation for medical care-related purposes. So, if you need a ride to or from a doctor’s appointment, you can find out how to apply and schedule your trip here on the Frisco website.
