Snellings Law Urges North Texans to Share the Road for Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month
North Texas, May 16, 2025 – As warmer weather arrives, more motorcyclists take to the roads, making it essential for all drivers to practice extra caution and awareness. In recognition of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, Snellings Law is reminding North Texans to share the road and take proactive steps to prevent motorcycle-related accidents.
With motorcycles being smaller and less visible than passenger vehicles, drivers must remain vigilant to reduce the risk of collisions. A moment of inattention or a failure to yield can have devastating consequences for motorcyclists, who lack the protection that cars and trucks provide.
The Importance of Sharing the Road
Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable road users. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), motorcyclists are 22 times more likely to be fatally injured in a crash than occupants of passenger vehicles. Many of these accidents occur when other drivers fail to see motorcycles in traffic, make unsafe lane changes, or misjudge their speed and distance.
“At Snellings Law, we’ve seen the tragic consequences of motorcycle accidents caused by inattentive driving,” said Scott Snellings, founding partner at Snellings Law. “Motorcyclists have the same rights to the road as any other driver, and it’s up to all of us to stay alert, avoid distractions, and drive responsibly to prevent unnecessary crashes.”

Safe Driving Practices for All Road Users
To help prevent motorcycle accidents and promote safer roads, Snellings Law encourages all drivers to follow these safety tips:
- Look Twice, Save a Life. Always check your blind spots and mirrors before changing lanes or merging. Motorcycles are smaller and can be easily overlooked.
- Give Motorcyclists Space. Maintain a safe following distance—at least four seconds—to allow motorcyclists time to maneuver safely.
- Use Extra Caution at Intersections. A significant percentage of motorcycle accidents happen at intersections. Yield appropriately and check for oncoming motorcycles before making turns.
- Be Mindful of Weather Conditions. Rain, wind, and debris on the road can be more hazardous for motorcyclists than for cars. Give them extra room to navigate safely.
- Avoid Distracted Driving. Put the phone down and keep your focus on the road. A brief distraction can prevent you from seeing an approaching motorcycle.

Raising Awareness for Motorcycle Safety
Snellings Law is committed to educating the community on motorcycle safety and encouraging all drivers to remain alert and respectful toward motorcyclists. Through informational content, community outreach, and the #SafeWithSnellings pledge, the firm hopes to foster safer driving habits and reduce the number of preventable motorcycle crashes.
“Sharing the road is about mutual respect and awareness,” Snellings said. “By making small changes in how we drive, we can help protect motorcyclists and make our roads safer for everyone.”

How it works:
- Call us now or give us your basic information in the Free Strategy Session box
- If your case is something we cannot help you with, we will do our best to get you the information of someone who can.
- If we can potentially help you, we will schedule a Free Strategy Session
There is zero obligation. We want all injury victims to understand their rights and the process.
After your Free Strategy Session, you will understand where insurance companies can set traps for you and what needs to be done to avoid these traps. You will also understand the personal injury process as well as how we can help, or if you need the help of an attorney. The strategy session typically will have one of three outcomes. You:
- Decide to move forward with our law firm.
- Decide to think about it, and we will be available to answer your questions.
- Say, “I’ve got this,” and decide you do not need an attorney.
Again, there is zero obligation and you will be informed and understand your rights and the process. We want to arm you with knowledge to avoid the traps insurance companies set to harm your claim.
