Compassion in Action: Honoring Our Nurse Giveaway Recipients

At Snellings Law, we believe that those who dedicate their lives to caring for others deserve to be recognized. That’s why we launched the North Texas Nurse Giveaway, an ongoing initiative to celebrate the compassion, skill, and selflessness of the incredible nurses serving our community.

Every month, three nominated nurses are selected to receive a special gift basket, hand-delivered by our team, as a small token of our gratitude for the big difference they make. Whether it’s by offering comfort during a difficult moment or going the extra mile to advocate for a patient, these healthcare professionals are the backbone of our system, and we’re proud to spotlight their impact.

Meet This Month’s Honorees

This month, we’re thrilled to recognize James McKiddy, Mac Anderson, and Dena Miller, D.N.P., FNP-BC as our outstanding nurse giveaway winners.

James McKiddy was nominated for his unwavering dedication to the veterans he serves. According to his nominator, James treats each patient with the same care and respect he would give his own family. He’s known for being incredibly attentive, always making time to truly listen to his patients’ concerns and persistently navigating obstacles within the system to get them the help they need. His compassion and persistence have left a lasting impression not only on those he cares for but also on his colleagues, who describe him as the best coworker and nurse they’ve encountered in years.

Mac Anderson stands out for the calm, capable presence she brings to the operating room. A cardiovascular and cardiothoracic physician assistant who works alongside Mac praised her efficiency, warmth, and attention to detail. As a circulating nurse, Mac plays a vital role in ensuring surgeries proceed smoothly and safely. Her kindness and ability to anticipate what’s needed have made her an essential part of the surgical team—someone whose presence noticeably elevates the entire experience for both patients and staff.

Dena Miller, D.N.P., FNP-BC, was nominated by a patient who credits her with changing their life. Through a thoughtful, diagnostic approach and a willingness to truly listen, Dena has helped this individual find lasting relief from migraines. Her expertise and patient-centered care have not only improved their quality of life but have also built a foundation of trust that exemplifies what excellent nursing is all about.

A Lasting Thank You to Our Healthcare Heroes

The stories shared through this month’s nominations are a powerful reminder of the difference one person can make. Nurses like James, Mac, and Dena represent the very best of what it means to serve others—with empathy, skill, and an unwavering commitment to care. Whether it’s advocating for veterans, creating calm in the operating room, or helping a patient reclaim their quality of life, these professionals go beyond the call of duty every day.

At Snellings Law, we’re honored to help tell their stories. The North Texas Nurse Giveaway isn’t just about monthly winners but about building a culture of appreciation, one nomination at a time. Too often, the critical role nurses play is overlooked or taken for granted. With this program, we hope to change that by uplifting the voices of patients, colleagues, and community members who have experienced the impact of exceptional nursing firsthand.

We invite you to be part of this ongoing celebration. If a nurse has touched your life, don’t hesitate to share your story and submit a nomination. Each entry adds to a growing chorus of gratitude that reminds these healthcare heroes they are seen, valued, and celebrated.

To every nurse across North Texas: your work matters, your presence matters, and we are thankful for you.
