Celebrating Our Healthcare Heroes: Snellings Law's North Texas Nurse Giveaway
FRISCO, Texas (March 3, 2025) – At Snellings Law, we understand the profound impact that nurses have on our communities. Their dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts often go unrecognized, and we believe it’s time to change that. That’s why we created the North Texas Nurse Giveaway—a monthly initiative designed to celebrate and honor the incredible nurses who make a difference in the lives of their patients every day.
Through this program, community members can nominate a deserving nurse who has made a lasting impact. Each month, three outstanding nurses are selected to receive a specially curated gift basket, personally delivered by our team. It’s our way of saying thank you to these healthcare heroes who give so much of themselves to others.
Recognizing Our Winners
The heart of this initiative lies in the heartfelt nominations we receive—stories of nurses who go above and beyond for their patients and communities. This month, we are honored to share the stories of six incredible nurses who were selected as winners and have touched lives in remarkable ways.
Jill Dodgen, a Registered Nurse and Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse (RN, CWON) was described by her nominator as a “constant ray of positivity.” Specializing in wound care and ostomies, Jill provides exceptional medical care and ensures her patients feel truly supported. She goes out of her way to offer comfort and encouragement, making an immense difference in the lives of those she treats.

Mandy Whatley was nominated for her unwavering dedication to providing healthcare to low-income communities. Her nominator highlighted her deep commitment to giving back, describing how Mandy’s work has helped ensure that even the most vulnerable individuals receive the care they deserve. Her selflessness and passion for service make a profound impact every day.
Breona Black, a nurse midwife in the Dallas area, was recognized for the extraordinary care she provides to expectant mothers. One nominator, who was a patient of Breona’s, shared how she made the prenatal experience one filled with warmth, understanding, and the highest level of care. Breona’s nurturing spirit and deep passion for maternal health left a lasting impact on the families she’s served.
In our second month, we honored three more remarkable winners. Kasie Conger, a dedicated midwife in the Dallas area, was nominated by someone whose life she deeply impacted—she delivered both of their babies. The nominator expressed immense gratitude for Kasie’s expertise, kindness, and unwavering support during such significant moments in their life.
Janaga Trotter, a school nurse, was nominated by a parent whose children she cared for more than a decade ago. They still remember her kindness, patience, and commitment to making sure students had everything they needed—not just medical care, but also clothing, shoes, and access to vital resources. Janaga’s dedication to her students has left a lasting legacy in her community.
Megan Thompson, serving in the Texoma area, was nominated by someone who has never personally been under her care but has seen her compassion in action. The nominator shared how friends and family members have spoken of Megan’s incredible patience, kindness, and tireless effort to ensure her patients receive the best care possible. Even from afar, her reputation as a devoted and selfless nurse shines through.

Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system, and their work often extends far beyond medical care. They provide comfort, support, and advocacy for their patients and families, often during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
